1. Richard Stepp & Haylee Alberson. Correlation Between the Public and Personal Stigmas of Mental Treatment Associated with Anxiety.

We examined perceived public stigma, personal stigma, and anxiety. We found a moderate correlation between perceived public and personal stigma and a weak correlation between anxiety and personal stigma. Results suggest perceived public stigma increases personal stigma, while anxiety relates positively to public stigma but negatively to personal stigma.

In this study, we analyzed correlations between individual’s perception of risk and conformity. To do this we analyzed participants with either a collectivist or individualist mindset, how they were able to handle certain pressures better than others, and how these mindsets would affect their conformity and perceptions of risk.
