Dr. Caitlin Mills
The (Wandering) Mind Matters
Dr. Caitlin Mills is currently an Associate Professor at the Educational Psychology Department at the University of Minnesota. Before joining UMN, she spent four years in the Psychology Department at the University of New Hampshire. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, then completed her postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Mills is particularly interested in mind wandering: its neural correlates, relationship to affect, and impact on learning. She has published over 100 peer reviewed papers, and was recently awarded the Tom Trabasso Young Investigator Award from the Society for Text and Discourse. Most recently, she has joined AERDF as Co-Founder and Chief of Research and Impact for AugmentED, a new R&D initiative focused on reimagining AI in Education.Â
